It takes no compromise to give people their rights. … It takes no money to respect the individual. It takes no political deal to give people freedom. It takes no survey to remove repression.
Having a job that provides meaningful work and purpose drives Scott.
Originally from the East Coast, Scott journeyed to Oregon in pursuit of self-discovery and cultural diversity.
A graduate of Portland State University, Scott attended part-time evening and online classes for six years to attain his bachelor’s degree in business management and leadership. It was during his time as a student that he was introduced to the world of philanthropy and nonprofit work.
"I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by a passionate and diverse group of colleagues who work every day to live out Meyer’s mission of contributing to a flourishing and equitable Oregon. It’s a mission I can wholeheartedly get behind and being a part of it energizes me."
Prior to Meyer, Scott worked in a variety of roles from call center representative to barista to hotel front desk agent. It was this combined work experience that led him to a career in operations. Scott believes strongly that it is never too late to receive an education.
Scott joined Meyer in February 2019.
