Phylicia Chartier
People and Culture Generalist
she/her
Phylicia Chartier supports the organization by managing day-to-day human resources functions while centering equity and trust, ensuring a positive employee experience and reinforcing Meyer’s values in all people-related processes. She aims to support staff in feeling seen and cared for throughout their experience at Meyer while ensuring HR systems run smoothly and equitably. She hopes to learn from her team while contributing to a warm, clear and responsive people experience.
Phylicia is inspired by people who live their values with care and integrity—whether community organizers working for justice, yoga students who show up with curiosity and presence, or colleagues who hold space for thoughtful dialogue. They remind her that change and growth happen in small, consistent acts rooted in connection.
Phylicia’s passion for community, equity and creativity brought her to Meyer. Through her previous work with Oregon Humanities, teaching yoga and volunteering with Third Angle New Music and the Poughkeepsie Farm Project, she has always sought out spaces that center connection and collective care—values that deeply align with Meyer’s mission.
Her professional background blends arts, media and mission-driven work. She studied the arts and began her career at Chronogram and Luminary Media, where she developed skills in storytelling, communication and creative collaboration. From there, she moved into nonprofit and community-focused roles, including work with Oregon Humanities and now Meyer Memorial Trust.
In her time off, Phylicia enjoys slow, intentional moments—like long conversations over meals, cooking with fresh ingredients from the farmers market and sharing adventures with her partner, whether camping or simply exploring a new corner of town. She also loves music, which has been a constant in her life, and winding down with her cats, a good movie and a scoop (or two) of ice cream.
Phylicia joined Meyer in June 2025.
