Peace comes from being able to contribute the best that we have, and all that we are, toward creating a world that supports everyone. But it is also securing the space for others to contribute the best that they have and all that they are.

A passion for helping others in need drives Gabriela. Gabriela comes to Meyer with a dedication to education and supporting programs geared toward helping those who are at a disadvantage.

“I grew up seeing day to day how many families struggle for the basics in life: housing, college education, food. I saw the constant racism. These things have made me who I am and drive me to want to be in a place where I can make a difference. I am eager to work hard and be part of the change to live in a better and equitable place.”

Prior to Meyer, Gabriela worked for the Hillsboro School District and Oregon Child Development Coalition, where she supported education for low-income and migrant families. Not only did she help with the Head Start Programs but she also reached out to other community organizations to provide education to parents in the program and recruited families that would benefit from the services.

Gabriela landed at Meyer Memorial Trust in 2016.
