As senior program associate for Our Empowered Youth, Ana is an integral part of Meyer’s program team and works to lead and support the foundation’s work through grants management, communications, collaboration, and relationship-building. With an extensive background in public policy and nonprofit leadership, she brings a wealth of experience to Meyer. Since 2008, Ana has worked to transform public education systems — from Los Angeles to New York to Portland – with a focus on community power, culturally relevant teaching, and high-quality education for all.

Before joining Meyer, Ana was an elected member of the David Douglas School Board and executive director of Oregon Futures Lab, uplifting leaders of color across Oregon to enter public office and govern effectively. Beyond her public sector achievements, Ana is also an accomplished actor, having performed in the award-winning films We Have Our Ways (2017) and Mother of Color (2023). She holds a degree in Philosophy (Ethics, Law, and Value Theory) from the University of Southern California, where she developed strong foundations in student leadership and community organizing. Ana is currently studying law and is set to graduate from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law in 2025.

Ana remains deeply committed to public service both locally and nationally. She serves on the Oregon State Bar’s Advisory Committee on Diversity & Inclusion and is a member of Harvard University’s AI for Human Flourishing working group. With a passion for educational justice and a talent for innovative, out-of-the-box thinking, Ana is dedicated to driving meaningful change through her role at Meyer Memorial Trust.
