Amanda Scales

Amanda is driven by a passion for removing barriers to success for others.

As the child of a single parent who struggled to support her, Amanda grew up with limited means but remembers that her mother always stressed the importance of working hard to achieve her goals. As she began her professional career, she was attracted to the role that Human Resources plays in an organization — in particular, the influence and impact it can have in ensuring employees are treated fairly and well.

"I never would have made it to where I am now without the generosity and support I received from others. Every little thing helps and can go such a long way.  I will always acknowledge that fact. Not everyone is gifted with being told they can be anything they want to be when they grow up or taught the skills needed to achieve their goals. Unfortunately, not everyone has people in their life that can provide emotional or financial support to help get them started. Everyone deserves to be told they are valuable and can achieve their own version of success. I want to bring these values and practices into the workplace."

Amanda previously worked on the HR team at Central City Concern. Even as a young girl, she provided tutoring and reached out to those who struggled to believe in themselves or succeed in school. She also saw the need to better serve students who learn and receive information differently.  In tribute to the rare but wonderful teachers who have helped her along her own journey, Amanda tries to approach everything she has done in her life with an open heart and values-driven mindset.
